NUNU has come such a long way since he joined us from that shelter in NYC last August and he’s still with us. He’s got some medical issues that he’ll always have, but they’re treatable and he really DESPISES dogs. He’s ever so loving once he’s warmed up to you. He comes when you call him, follows his favorite humans about and loves cuddles. He’s very well behaved. He’d do best in a QUIET home with someone who’s able and willing. He’s a five year old DSH INDOOR male, neutered, up-to-date on FVRCP and rabies and he’s been micro-chipped. He’s also been feline leukemia and AIDS tested negative. Nunu’s tongue is usually hanging out and he has a soft, polite meow. He’s been to the vet a few times since he’s come to us to get antibiotic injections and he gets his teeth brushed once a week to help control his condition. Nunu has an allergy to tooth plaque and it is causing inflammation in the back of his mouth. When it becomes infected, he can not eat so well, so off to the vet he goes. His condition could someday require him to have tooth extractions, but for now he doesn’t need that. His condition could also result in ulcerations in the mouth. This condition is what left him abandoned in the shelter and waiting for that needle. Yes, he’s special need, but Nunu is otherwise healthy and has gained weight since coming to us. He tolerates dry food well, he also loves canned food and enjoys an occasional tuna in water. He’s outstanding with his litter box. We’d all love for him to have a caring, understanding home with an attentive family. If you’d like to meet him, he’s waiting to be your best friend.
